Great Mystery For Teens But Enjoyed By All

The Secret A Seacliff High Mystery by Kathi Daley is an excellent teen mystery that I also enjoyed reading.

As a kid I loved Nancy Drew and yes even Hardy Boy Mysteries. I wanted to be friends with Nancy to go out to solve the mysteries with her. I stoked my love of reading and my love of mysteries with these books. That's what this series and book reminded me of my love for Nancy Drew.

Alyson and her mother have moved to Cutters Cove OR and into the old Cutters Mansion after they had to be put in the witness protection program. They have to start over and this is just the place to do it in a small town where no one knows them. Alyson has to go to the High School there, which is new to her since she always went to a private school in her past life, and immediately she makes friends with Mac, Trevor and Eli. They all become fast friends and that friendship grows when they decide to help Alyson solve the mystery of Cutter's Mansion and find all of the secrets the old place holds. Is it haunted by the past occupant, does it hold treasures? This is what they have to figure out and  they find some interesting history as well as some danger while trying to solve the mysteries. Can they figure it all out and can Alyson do it with out anyone finding out about her past?

This book may be for teens but it is just a fun fast good mystery that even an adult can enjoy reading. I love how the author incorporates the history of the family and  mansion with the mystery  that keeps you guessing and wanting to read more. I think this book is good for a teen but we as adults can't go wrong with reading it either.

I will be reading the rest of the series later. This one is a hit. I recommend it.

Moonlight Can Be Murder An Edge of Your Seat Book

Wow is the only thing I can think to say about this great book Moonlight Can Be Murder A Ned McNeil Mystery by Blanche Day Manos. I loved this book and I can not wait until the next one comes out.

Nettie McNeil gets a letter from her Uncle Javin after he gets out of prison that he wants her to come to her home town of Ednalee, OK because he needs to see her and strange things are happening. She goes and when she gets there she was looking forward to seeing him again but was terribly surprised when she finds him shot and dying. Now she is thrown into a murder and has to find out who killed her Uncle and why before she is next.

Nettie or Ned for short is a very level headed, strong willed and determined woman who is wants answers into what is happening and who murdered her Uncle. As a reader I immediately connected with her and was drawn into the mystery right along with her. I love the old Victorian home and land, it adds a dimension to the mystery and is such a important part of the story.  I could just picture the house and wished to be sitting right there with Ned and her friends in front of the fire  or at the kitchen table helping solve this mystery. I love a good mystery and this one is just that .

This book has so many possibilities and trying to tie all the loose ends up makes for a great puzzle to solved. I really thought I had this one figured out but then found I was only partly right and the why escaped me to the end.

This is an intense and at times emotional mystery. I could not put it down. If you like a good mystery, that keeps you on the edge of your seat and one that is full of possibilities and suspects then do not miss this book.

One of my favorite parts is when Ned sees a white figure head into her carriage house and decides to once and for all figure out what is going " Fear gave way to curiosity and a rising anger that someone or something would trespass and find it necessary to sneak around in the dark instead of coming to my door. "Please Lord, I whispered, "Protect me and help me find out what is going on." pg 148

Anger overcomes fear I can so relate to this.

Don't miss this great, spooky, intense, wonderful book. I highly recommend it.

A Good Mystery is found in Death of a Bad Apple

Death of a Bad Apple  A Food Festival Mystery by Penny Pike is a five star read.
I really enjoyed this book. It has all the right elements suspense, romances, a good puzzle and many suspects to choose from.

Darcy helps her Aunt Abby with her food truck in San Francisco but when Aunt Abby signs them up for an Apple Festival in Apple Valley Darcy is ready for a little fun. Besides the food, vendors, and hay maze Darcy, Aunt Abby, Jake and Dillon find themselves in the middle of a struggle between the GMO company, arson fires and now murder. This festival is proving to be more than they bargained for. Festival, Apples, Fun and Murder, Darcy gets right in the middle of it all  and she ropes the others into helping her solve the mystery of why and who is behind it all and who knows how it will all turn out?

This is one of those books that keeps you guessing. Just when you think you have it all figured out then it changes course and you have to put your thinking cap back on and try to figure it out again. I love a book with a good puzzle that keeps you guessing to the end and this book is just that.

If  you like a good mystery, strong characters and a good plot within a plot, with a little romance thrown in, then you will enjoy this book.

This is the third book in the series and even though I had not read the other two I find that I didn't get lost in this one. I will however be going back to read the other ones now because I am a fan of the series after reading this one. I would recommend this series and book to others. Oh yeah and don't forget there are recipes too, who could ask for more.
